Contemporary Issues in Economic Theory and Policy
The Contemporary Issues in Economic Theory and Policy Seminar aims at clarifying and discussing some of the most important controversies concerning economic ideas and policies, in particular, inequalities, economic inequalities, and the association with crisis, the idea of social costs grounded on a theory of social value which recognizes the puzzling contradictions between exchange values and the social importance of goods, the incommensurability of value and value conflicts, and the growing importance of finance and its consequences. Identifying and exposing the plural and value-laden nature of economic ideas and debates is another objective of this seminar.
